It's easy to be negative, annoyed and sad. It's also easy to complain and be sorry for yourself. Life sure isn't fair a lot of the time. Sound familiar? Each one of us has a choice to make - we can dwell on that kind of thinking, and all the negative 'stuff' that happens in our daily lives, or we can work to 'let it go'. It's not possible to be happy 24-7, and, actually, life would be kind of boring if we didn't experience some bumps along the way, some obstacles and challenges to make us stronger and wiser, and to teach us new things.
But it is possible to try to make each day as happy and fulfilling as we can possibly make it. So much of life is about 'attitude'. Your attitude, like most things, can change on a dime if you let it happen. If you pay attention to yourself, how you're feeling and reacting, you can make a concious choice to stop - to look for the positive, do something positive, rather than be negative.
Sometimes it's a simple as taking a break and doing something that you enjoy - smile at a stranger, help a colleague, spend some time with a beloved pet, take a walk, listen to music, call a loved one to say 'hello', spend quality time with your kid, exercise, work on a single goal that will take you one more step toward making a dream a reality.
The point is, a positive attitude and happiness don't always happen automatically - at times you have to make a concious effort to make them happen. You have to work at it, you have to want it. Desire, intention, commitment, determination, patience, passion, persistence are so important when you are striving to achieve virtually anything - including happiness and a positive attitude. So smile a little today - be happy. You know what the alternative is and it's just not as much fun, or as fulfilling!
