If you're 'in it for the long-haul' with a dream - and you want to avoid 'burn-out' - then 'taking breaks' should be a priority. Anyone who has ever achieved a dream knows that you must be obsessively focused on making it a reality day after day after day. The dream becomes a 24-7 pursuit. When your
dream is a passion that generates happiness and a sense of fulfillment, then it truly is worth the hard work and sacrifice. When you 'love the dream', then it is worth the pain and obstacles.
In order to be happy and healthy throughout the journey, you have to be willing to set the 'Things To Do List' aside. You have to be willing to give your head, heart and body a rest - give yourself time to re-charge - so that you can again pick up the pace on another day. Personally, my life runs right on schedule thanks to my 'Things To Do List'. My list helps me to stay organized, set deadlines, and achieve all of my business, personal, and creative tasks, one by one, on time. Unfortunately, when I'm not careful that list begins to rule my life. I become so caught up in what I'm doing, and what I need to do next, I forget to stop and smell the roses - to just enjoy the moment, simple pleasures, time with friends, and pleasureable non-dream pursuits . . .
I've learned you really have to walk a fine line - pay close attention to your head, heart and body - when you're focused like a laser on your dreams. The outcome when you don't pay attention - burn-out - isn't pleasant or pretty. So, on this lovely Sunday, I'm going to take a break. I hope you can too. Tomorrow is a new day in which we can pick up where we left off. Carpe Diem . . . Tomorrow!
