How often do you feel like you are running like crazy on a hamster wheel, with no end in sight? In the fast-paced, multi-tasking, always-on society that we live in, feelings of being overwhelmed and burned out can be in the day-to-day journey. Personally, I am very well aware of my limitations. I also am very introspective and I try to pay attention to what my body and mind are telling me. I have a lot of dreams, lots ot things to see and do, places to be, so my biggest dilemma is 'how to fit it all in' -and find time to relax, take good care of myself, and spend quality time with my loved ones. Creating balance is a constant struggle, but the struggle is well worth it. Balance can promote a happier, more rewarding and productive lifestyle.
Maintaining balance in my life, and avoiding burn out, are among my top priorities in 2009, so I intend to 'Take Breaks Along The Way Through My Day', as part of my I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'. Banish the 'Someday, Someday, Someday Syndrome'. Instead, make every day New Year's Day. Make every day count. The list of possibilities is infinite and can be tailored to your own dreams, resolutions and daily goals. If you need some help - a little nudge, a bit of inspiration, tips, advice, and news about the best ways to make resolutions a reality - please use IResolveTo.Com as one of your resources. Each day, I plot how I plan to spend my time, which is my most valuable asset. In addition to handling my work, home, creative, and personal responsibilities, I am making an concerted, conscious, effort to relax and take more break filled with pleasureable activitiess, which in turn, inject little bursts of happiness in my day (and make me more productive because I return to my projects with a clear head and a fresh burst of energy). Here are 10 'break time activities' that add joy to my life in 20, 30, and 60 minute segments:
