"If you don't know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else." Lawrence J. Peter - From QuoteGarden.Com
How often have you dragged your feet about heading to the gym or exercising, but once on the treadmill discovered that you are glad to be there - and afterward feel great and full of energy? I have often had this experience and have discovered that 'showing up' is half the battle if you want to succeed with dreams, resolutions and daily goals. When I don't feel like writing, I push myself because once I am in front of the computer, stringing words together, I get that rush of 'happy adrenalin'. I am doing something that I love and I happily engage once I actually begin writing.
The same holds true with large dreams: Never say never. Don't let obstacles of all shapes and sizes stop you. They may slow you down, but there is always a way around if you maintain your focus, use your head, stay determined, and show up each and every day . . . take small daily steps toward your dreams when you don't have time, don't feel like it, don't feel inspired, don't feel like you're making progress, or _______________. You fill in the blank, there are endless obstacles. Don't let them get the best of you. Instead, chew them up, spit them out, and move forward toward your dream!
I intend to 'Never Say Never, Instead Pursue A Path Of Patience, Passion And Persistence Toward My Dreams', as part of my I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'. Banish the 'Someday, Someday, Someday Syndrome'. Instead, make every day New Year's Day. Make every day count with 'daily resolves'. The list of possibilities is infinite and can be tailored to your own dreams, resolutions and daily goals. If you need some help - a little nudge, a bit of inspiration, tips, advice, and news about the best ways to make resolutions a reality - please use IResolveTo.Com as one of your resources. Whether I am striving to make good on a 'Daily Resolve', or to push a major dream inches closer to the finish line (and beyond), I utilize the same strategies. One simple strategy is to make a firm decision to act, schedule the activity, then follow through and simply 'do it'. Sometimes the answers to vexing questions are right there in front of us, but they are so simple, we dismiss them out of hand. Making and keeping resolutions falls into that category - the majority of resolution-makers fail to keep their promise to follow through and make good on their resolutions. In a nutshell, some of the reasons 'why' include: No idea where to begin, no true desire to tackle the resolution, no plan achieve the resolution, and no ambition to follow through. It's no wonder resolutions hit the 'goal graveyard' in just days, or weeks. The resolutions are often well-intended, good ideas - but ultimately 'mis-guided'.
