One of my favorite books is 'Don't Sweat The Small Stuff - And It's All Small Stuff' by the late Richard Carlson. In this small tome, he offers so many common sense ideas for making the most out of life - and many of his suggestions are the 'small step' variety, so it dovetails very nicely with the I Resolve To . . . strategy of taking small daily steps toward health and happiness via 'daily resolves'.
Personally, I favor a drama-free lifestyle (as much as possible, who doesn't), so any book that can point me in that direction hits the top of my reading list. On a daily basis, I try to remind myself that most of the things that are annoying, frustrating, problematic, won't matter in the long run. Often they are over-blown. I make a point to change the channel, take a long walk, or meditate, if I am stewing over something - worry seldom gets you anywhere. Often if I walk away from a problem for a short time, I am later able to find a workable solution . . . while I reduce stress and shift to a more positive frame of outlook.
With that in mind, I intend to 'Avoid Sweating the Small Stuff', and re-read Richard Carlson's wonderful little book, again for inspiration, as part of my Second Annual I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'.
