While I often would love to grab a candy bar - and some days I do head for the chocolate - I know that i am much better off choosing an apple, orange, banana, or a handful of nuts. I often pack snacks when I head out the door, so I won't be tempted by fast food in between meals and appointments. It is a daily challenge to think ahead, and stay in the moment with mindful food choices. Some days I am more successful than others, but the fruits and veggies do add up over the long haul, even if I do toss in some chocolate along the way (I do much better with limiting my sugar intake rather than eliminating sugar altogether - I don't believe in 'all or nothing propositions with food).
With that in mind, I intend to 'Snack Healthy', as part of my Second Annual I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? I began my day with fresh fruits and yogurt - mango, orange, apricot, a few strawberries, lowfat vanilla yogurt, a splash of juice and we had breakfast :)
Now I'm snacking on an apple before I head out to the NAPA County farmers markets.
Aaaaah, to be out of rainy Seattle and in the sunshine, I don't even mind a little sunburn :)
